What type of coverage do child care providers need?

Encourage child care provider clients to consider the following:

  • Business Owners Policy (BOP), or Commercial Package: Covers general liability, including claims of bodily injury from accidents filed by a third party (parents should child be injured), and covers property within the child care such as furniture, toys, supplies, etc.
  • Worker's Compensation: Protects employees if they become sick or injured in an accident on the job. This will pay for medical costs and lost wages.
  • Sexual Misconduct and Molestation: Protects against claims of sexual misconduct.
